ABOUT US

Organized in 2015 and registered as a 501(c)(3) Public Charity, Celeritas Foundation is entirely run by volunteers. Celeritas Foundation's mission is to prevent morbidity and mortality from preventable diseases in resource limited settings. In order to accomplish this, Celeritas Foundation is dedicated to the following goals:   

1. To reduce the global burden of a disease by developing and implementing ethically sound, sustainable and equitable health policies by working in strong partnerships at global and national levels.

2. To bring preventive health services to the maternal and pediatric population in impoverished areas in a developing country.

3. To bring safe and effective intervention for diseases endemic to the region.

4. Lobby for more clinical research on diseases prevalent in these regions and push for effective mandates on post trial benefits for the population.

5. Facilitate local production of effective interventions to reduce cost, to bridge the supply chain and create jobs in the region.

6. Help with disaster relief by providing guidance on interventions to prevent disease outbreaks during natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods.

Now, in the wake of the recent earthquakes in Nepal, the Celeritas Foundation has focused its efforts to providing basic sanitation facilities and disease outbreak containment to those afflicted.  

Notably, the Celeritas Foundation is working with engineers at Kathmandu University to build, distribute and install 400 toilets to remote areas of the Kavre District of Nepal. Dhulikhel hospital is doing the preliminary assessment of earthquake devastated areas to evaluate and distribute the 400 toilets constructed by Kathmandu University.

Additionally, the Celeritas Foundation is working with a major Nepali partner, the Dhulikhel hospital, located in Kavrepalanchowk district, to initiate with water-borne disease surveillance.
